Ultrasound Liposuction

Ultrasound liposuction is one of the most popular techniques of liposuction. This is a technique that requires the use of high-frequency ultrasonic fields to enhance the way of removing fats, to increase the amount of fat to be extracted and to give the patient lesser discomfort.

There are two types of ultrasound liposuction: the external ultrasound assisted liposuction and the internal ultrasound assisted liposuction. External ultrasound assisted liposuction can be applied to patients with moderate obesity. A specific frequency is set to complete fat tissue disruption which gives better way of contouring the body particularly in fibrous areas such as the male breast, back, and calves. External ultrasound assisted liposuction is also useful to make the removal of fats easier because of the external application of ultrasonic energy. The usage of cannula that produces swelling and bruising is reduced. It also offers lesser discomfort; blood loss and nerve damage.

While the internal ultrasound assisted liposuction applies the energy through the use of cannula which will then cause swelling and bruising. Exposure to necrosis and seroma formation is high due to the incisions made. Higher rate of blood loss is also an effect of internal ultrasound assisted liposuction.

In application, external ultrasound assisted liposuction has been greatly patronized than the internal ultrasound assisted liposuction. However external ultrasound assisted liposuction can cause the destruction of tissue due to inflammation caused by the high energy fields.

Ultrasound liposuction is one of the rises in surgery. The elaborated technique of ultrasound liposuction shows that the transmission of high frequency ultrasonic fields can cause the destruction of the adipose cells which is the target of every liposuction procedure. Using ultrasound liposuction in treating gynecomastia or enlargement of the male breast is more effective than other techniques of liposuction.

Ultrasound assisted liposuction gives efficiency in removing fats in fibrous areas of the body because of non incisions which may cause damage to nerves and tissues. It also leaves the skin with lesser bruise and swell. By using ultrasound before the liposuction procedure, adipose cells are disrupted and degranulated which make the sucking easier.  Because of lesser blood loss a smoother effect on the skin can be achieved.

The limitation of ultrasound liposuction includes the prohibition of obese and unhealthy patient to undergo liposuction. In every session only limited amount of fat is required to be extracted. Occurrence of cavities is also possible.

Ultrasound liposuction has become the most used technique in achieving a more contoured body.
