Non-Surgical Liposuction

Liposuction literally means fat, “Lipo” and suction, so liposuction is actually the suctioning of unwanted fat from the body. Non-surgical liposuction is then a term that needs to be analyzed further. Traditional methods of liposuction makes use of anesthesia, depending on the size of the area to be treated with liposuction, it may be a local or general application of anesthetics. The fat is then removed from the body of the patient with the use of stainless steel tubes called cannulas, which are inserted into small incisions made into the general area to be treated. The cannulas are used to separate the fat and at the same time suction it out of the body through a vacuum like machine.

Through the continuous use of liposuction in the cosmetic surgery industry, many improvements and innovations have been made and introduced in the market; some have been successful in improving the treatment, while others have given way to complications. Some of these innovations like, super-wet liposuction, power-assisted liposuction, tumescent liposuction makes use of chemical additives or other mechanical devices in aiding the liposuction process itself, but take note that the surgical procedure is still the same, which is anesthesia, with surgical incisions for the cosmetic surgeon to insert the cannulas to extract the emulsified fat deposits.

In non-surgical liposuction, no incisions are made and the use of anesthetics is limited if not entirely removed from the procedure, there is also no stainless steel tubes that need to be inserted to physically removed fat from tissue and skin. Using this treatment, cosmetic surgeons or beauty clinics sue lasers or chemicals that are injected to emulsify fat from the outside of the skin, this means that the fat deposits are broken down within the body and is physically separated from tissue and skin, this is then removed from the body by natural means, through sweat, urine, and bowel movement. Non-surgical liposuction takes more treatments than traditional liposuction not only because there is no actual “suctioning” that takes place but it also takes time for our body to naturally get rid of the emulsified fat.

There are many advantages of non-surgical liposuction treatment over the traditional methods and one is of course lowered health risk to the patient, also recovery period is dramatically lessened which is very welcome to prospective patients who live a hectic lifestyle but want to sculpt their bodies into something much more aesthetically pleasing.
